Ken & Angelita Engagement in The Middle Of Nowhere

Ken & Angelita Engagement in The Middle Of Nowhere

I have to commend Angelita on finding one of my new favorite locations in Delaware. Even though I do travel quite frequently I've lived in Delaware my entire life, and it's rare to find a new location in New Castle County. With that being said I'm not telling anyone where it is lol. I usually don't mind sharing locations, tips, etc but not this time nope.

Ken and Angelita came super prepared. Ken actually got lost coming to the location, that's how hidden it is. My gps stopped working on the way too I just tried to follow the handful of signs I did see. We were going for the late autumn vibe with all of the leaves falling, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The contrast with the location, and their outfits were almost perfect in my eyes. They were super cool, and fun to work with. It was really difficult going through the proofs, because all of the photos were really nice.

Kris & Grace at The City Tap House

Kris & Grace at The City Tap House

So for Kris and Grace session we went to 2 very significant places for the two. We went to The City Tap House (http://www.ucity.citytap.com and the University of Delaware (https://www.udel.edu). The City Tap House in University City Philadelphia, PA is a gorgeous location the inside, outside, and surrounding areas. The staff was amazing and super helpful. We where there for a while, and they kept us stocked up with coffee and great service. I have to give a special thank you to the manger on duty Colin Geiger! The restaurant is the very restaurant where Kris proposed to Grace, and I see why. Once we finished up in Philadelphia we went straight to the University of Delaware for the second half of the session before the sun set. The campus was surprisingly not flooded with students this day, but hey no complaints here :) The only downside to the shoot was we both got hit with parking tickets while in Philadelphia ;/ but minus that it was great.

Carter Kree 4 Year Old Portrait Session at The Carnival

Carter Kree 4 Year Old Portrait Session at The Carnival

Okay, so Carter's father Newdy Felton called me last minute because he needed photos for Carter's birthday party invitations. I just happened to have a client cancel on me the day before he called so I said let's do it! Directly across the street from the college where I recently graduated, Wilmington University, was a small carnival that I'd be thinking about shooting at, and he was open to any ideas I had so we decided to shoot there. As soon as I arrived Carter and her mother, Taniah English, were on the merry go round having a ball. As soon as she got of I'm pretty sure she knew the day was about her and posed her little heart away. Carters only stipulation was that someone got on the ferris wheel with her lol. Newdy doesn't ride rides and that's the end of that, period. So after Taniah rode on the ferris wheel with Carter the rest of the shoot was a breeze. The only downside to the entire shoot was that I'm pretty sure that the popcorn that we were eating was stale, but everyone was so hot and hungry we ate it anyway.

Taniah is a graphic and website designer be sure to check out her site at www.IAmNiaE.com

Crysta Great Gasby Bridal Party

Crysta Great Gasby Bridal Party

Ok so this bridal party was amazing. I will be flying to Mexico in August to cover Crysta and Kamar's wedding! Her bridesmaids put a fabulous bridal party for her with the Great Gasby theme! All of her guests came in "formation" as they kept saying all night which is one of Beyonce's most popular songs and all the women love it lol. I had a great time, and I love the photos. All of her friends and family were very warming and made me feel apart of the family. I honestly can't wait for the wedding. The best part of the night was easily when they blindfolded Crysta and surprised her by bringing it Kamar, it was awesome! #TheGreatCrysta

Cali 1 Year Portraits + Old Smash The Cake

Cali 1 Year Portraits + Old Smash The Cake

The shoot with Cali was super fun. As always, most children are unpredictable and will cooperate only on their own terms when it's time to have their photo taken. De Shaun and I tried our best to get her to get into the basket with balloons tied too and her name on the front, but Cali wasn't with it at all.  De shaun and I work together a lot and when she has a vision I can typically execute for her no problem, not this time. At the beginning Cali did not want to cooperate at all she did not like the basket I'm sure of it lol It took for her older brother to come and do random funny things to get her to warm up to have her photo taken. Once she started laughing it was on! We did what is called smash the cake where you basically let the child just dig in on the cake. She eventually did eat a lot of the cake but she did it so neatly all we could do was laugh. Piece by piece she ate the cake. Happy 1st birthday Cali Amor. Her birthday is  June 23!

Jon and Totiyana Engagement

Jon and Totiyana Engagement

Time really does fly. Recently I had the pleasure of photographing J and Totiyana for their engagement session. The cool thing about capturing their photos is that I've known them both for just a little over 10 years now! We all went to the greatest high school in Delaware of course Christiana High. Back then I would've never thought that I'd be a photographer taking photos of weddings all over the world. We have all have a pretty decent relationship with one another so taking their photos was a piece of cake. I had the idea that since it's where they both met that it'd be a great idea to go back on Christiana High School grounds and do half of their session there. I'd say we did more laughing and talking more about old school memories than we actually did shooting. Once we left Christiana they changed outfits and then we headed to Philadelphia to finish the session. I had a great time and you can tell that they love to laugh by looking at their photos.
